Kumar Ravindra is one of the signature poets of the Navgeet style of Hindi poetry. After retiring as the Dean of the postgraduate English Department from Dayanand College, Hissar Harayana in 2000 he has focused on independent writing.
A prolific writer, he has seven Navgeet collections, one free-verse collection, five plays in verse, one travelogue, and a book of English poems to his credit - so far. His navgeet, ghazals, travelogue, memoirs and other articles are regulary published in reputed anthologies and periodicals. He has also authored several research articles on the navgeet style of poetry.
Kumar Ravindra's contribution to Hindi literature has received formal recognition via several awards such as 'SahityaBhooshan' from Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthaan, Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Prayag's ’Sahityamopaadhyay’ and many other national and international awards.
