Poet, playwright and a critic, Girija Kumar Mathur (22 August 1919 - 10 January 1994) started his writing career with Brajbhasha. Then he moved to Hindi and has many anthology of poems to his credit like- 'Nash aur Nirmaan', 'Manjeer', 'Dhoop ke Dhaan', 'Shilapankh Chamkeele', 'Jo Bandh Na Saka', 'Saakshee Rahe Vartamaan', 'Bheetar Nadi Ki Yatra', 'Main Vaqt ke Saamne Hoon', 'Chhaya Mat Chhoona Mann' etc.
He was one of the poets included in 'Taar Saptak' edited by Agyeya. He was felicitated with Sahitya Akademi Puraskaar, Vyaas Sammaan and Shalaka Sammaan.
