Born on May 7, 1861, in Jorasanko, Kolkata, Rabindranath Tagore was a versatile genius. He is known as a poet, novelist, dramatist, painter, and philosopher.
He was the first person from Asia to be awarded the Nobel Prize. He was given this honor in 1913 for his poetry collection 'Gitanjali'. Chokherbali, Nasht Need, Nauka Doobi, Ghare Baire etc. are some of his other famous works. He passed away on 7 August 1941.
