Ajay Rattan is a native of Delhi and now lives in Pune. His formal education is BE(Hons) Civil and Diploma in Marketing Management. He is Chief (HSE and Lysaght Business) at Tata Bluescope Steel Limited. He has been awarded the Vishwakarma Puraskaar twice by the Govt. of India for his contributions to Employee Safety and the environment.
From childhood he was very interested in reading, over and above school studies. Munshi Premchand, Tagore, Khushwant Singh, Leo Tolstoy were read but Munshi Premchand remained his ideal author.
Ajay was a part of the school orchestra due to his interest in playing musical instruments.
Being an army officer's child he was able to experience the cultural norms of many regions of India.
His interest in writing poetry happened as a result of reading Dr. Vinod Tewary and Vani Murarka's article series
Basic Structure of Hindi Poetry.
The journey of writing poetry has progressed from rhymed verse, ghazals, to free verse.
The software
"Geet Gatiroop" by Vani Murarka helped him write Dohas and Kundaliyaan.
His wife has been a science teacher and both sons are engineering graduates.
