Bhaarat Bhooshan's poems on Kaavyaalaya
Ram Kee Jal Samaadhi

Born on August 3, 1919, in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, Bharat Bhushan received his higher education from Agra and Delhi University. He served in distinguished positions across the fields of writing, editing, and All India Radio (AIR), and also held the post of Deputy Secretary at the Sahitya Akademi.

In the early stages, Bharat Bhushan Agarwal’s poems were influenced by the Chhaayaavaad (Neo-romanticism) movement, but he gradually transitioned toward Pragativaad (Progressivism) and Prayogvaad (Experimentalism). His poetry offers a profound portrayal of the ironies of middle-class life, social inequality, and the struggles inherent in metropolitan living. He was one of the prominent poets featured in the first 'Tar Saptak' (1943), edited by Agyeya.

He was posthumously honored with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award in 1978 for his poetry collection 'Utnaa Wah Sooraj Hai'. His notable poetry collections include: Chhavi Ke Bandhan (1941) Jaagte Raho (1942) Muktimarg (1947) O Aprastut Mann (1959)
