
Born in Madhya Pradesh, Anshu Johri earned her degree in Electrical Engineering from Jabalpur and a Master's degree in Digital Design from San Jose State University, California. Currently, she works as a hardware engineer and writes poems, stories, and plays in both Hindi and English.
Her published works include the poetry collections 'Khule PrishTh', 'Boond Ka Dwandwa', and 'Tumse Jude Bina', as well as the story collections 'Shesh Phir', 'Adrishya Kinaaraa', 'Scraped' (an English story collection), and 'Jiski JaDe(n) Nahee(n)'. Her poems and stories are regularly published in international Hindi magazines, notably Nayaa Gyaanodaya, Kaadambinee, Navneet, Hans, Kathaakram, Kathaabimb, Vaagarth, Abhinav Imroz, Vibhom Swar, Vartamaan Saahitya, Hindi Jagat, Vishwa and 'Akshara'.
Her English stories and poems have been published in 'Sage', 'Soul Lit', 'Dukool', 'Vine Leaves Literary Journal', 'Creation and Criticism', 'Calliope', and 'Caesura'.
In 1998, she launched one of the world's first Hindi webzines on the internet, named 'Udgam' and edited it until 2004. Anshu Johri, who also possesses a deep interest in acting, directing, and painting, resides in San Jose, California, USA. She has been honored with the Glorious India Award 2017 (Literature) and Kathaabimb's Kamleshwar Smriti Kathaa Sammaan 2019.
