Sudarshan Sharma hails from Pind Malout of Muktsar district in Punjab. She did her graduation in English Literature and Philosophy amd post graduation in English, Hindi and Education.. A teacher by profession and by heart, currently Sudarshan lives in Sri Ganganagar and Sangaria (of Hanumangarh district) in Rajasthan.
She is particularly fond of Punjabi literature and from class 6-7 itself started reading stalwarts such as Amrita Preetam, Shiv Kumar Batalvi, Kartar Singh Duggal, Waris Shah, Baba Bulle Shah, Shah Hussain and Sultan Baahu. She was deeply influenced by Communism and the works of Gorky, Dostoevky and Tolstoy. In Hindi, she enjoys the writings of Rangeya Raghav, Nirmal Verma, Jaishankar Prasad, Acharya Chatursen.
Sudarshan started writing for the school and college magazines. She writes primarily in free verse. The imagery in her poems is particularly strong and unique. Her writings often have a surreal quality. She is intensely introverted and hence her works have been published only in some Punjabi magazines and online blogs so far.
