Kunwar NarayaN, a recipient of the Saahitya Akademi (1995) and JnanpeeTh (2008) awards, is one of the seven poets of 'Teesaraa Saptak'. Before its publication in 1959, his first collection of poems 'Chakravyooh' was published in 1956.
His travels to various countries gave him the opportunity to build a bridge between Hindi and world poetry and he translated poems from foreign languages into Hindi. His poems were also translated into different languages of the world. In 2009, he was awarded the Padma VibhooshaN by the Government of India.
Born on 19 September 1927, this poet passed away on 15 November 2017.
