Jacinta Kerketta is a poet, writer and freelance journalist from the Oraon tribal community of West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. She writes in Hindi. In her poems she throws light on the injustice being done to the tribal communities as well as their struggles.
Her first bilingual Hindi/English poetry collection was published in 2016 under the title "Angor". A second bilingual poetry collection came out in 2018 with the title “JaD़on kee Zameen”. Her poetry collections have also been translated into German, Italian and French. Her third Hindi poetry collection "Eeshwar Aur Baazaar" in 2022 and fourth collection "Prem Men PeD Honaa" in 2024 is published by Rajkamal Prakashan, New Delhi. Two books for children, Jacinta Kee Diary and Jirahul, are published by Jugnoo, a publication of Iktaaraa Trust, Bhopal.
She has traveled to America, England, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Costa Rica, Thailand for poetry readings and dialogues. She has been invited to Harvard India Conference 2020. Her poems are being read and studied in many countries.
In 2014, she was given the Voice of Asia Recognition Award by Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact, Thailand. In 2022, she was one of the 22 self-made women of India selected by Forbes India. In 2024, she was honored with the Youth Award of the Indian Language Council. In the same year, she has also been jointly selected for Omega Resilience Award by Commonwealth Organization, America and Startup India from India.
